The bike rode to victory in the first ever SunTrust Moto ST winning the Super Sport Twinsclass of the eighthour endurance race by holding off the M4 EMGO Suzuki team and their SV1000S at Daytona International Speedway this past October. |

| Bmw Bergen The engine was built up from a set of 1978 R100 cases fitted with the famous Long Rod conversion specially designed SJBMW 1000 cc pistons oversize SJBMW Stainless Steel valves a custom camshaft Mikuni flatslide carbs and topped with a specially ported set of SJBMW heads. At each and every step of the way as the engine went together the SJBMW team learned more and went further than they had ever gone before with a BMW oilhead twin. The chassis was based on an R100 center section fitted with a custom aluminum subframe a Paralever rear swingarm from an R1100GS the gearset from an R1200C Cruiser and a K12RS rear wheel.
